Ammunition Designs win red dot 2009 Product Design Awards
The red dot design awards, the world's largest and most distinguished design competition, has just announced its 2009 winners, and Ammunition is responsible for five award-winning products.
Ammunition's designs for the Dell Precision and Dell Latitude Notebook families each garnered a "red dot," while its work on the Dell OptiPlex desktop family earned the competition's highest award, the "red dot: Best of the Best."
In addition, Ammunition, in partnership with the Dell Experience Design Group, developed the design language behind two more 2009 award winners: the Dell M109S Projector and the Dell Latitude family.
In the category of Product Design, the competition received over 3000 entries from a total of 49 countries. The jury panel awarded "red dot" to 683 products and the "Best of the Best" accolade to 49.
American companies received 38 red dot awards in total, with Dell and Apple receiving the most, taking home eight each. Ammunition was responsible for the design or design language of five of Dell's eight red dot winners.
Established in 1955, the red dot design award is evaluated by an international jury, and its winners are displayed at the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany.
